AG Barr’s Routing of Pennsylvania Election-Fraud Complaints to Conflicted AG Shapiro (PA)

U.S. Attorney William McSwain disclosed in a June 9, 2021 letter that Attorney General Barr had instructed him to pass all Pennsylvania election-fraud reports to Pennsylvania AG Josh Shapiro – rather than investigate them independently – despite Shapiro having publicly stated before the election that he would “fight like hell” to ensure Pennsylvania went for Biden and having been actively engaged in election-related litigation on Biden’s behalf. Routing federal election-fraud referrals to a structural partisan adversary with a documented stake in the election outcome rendered the federal oversight mechanism functionally inoperative in Pennsylvania.
