Fulton County RICO Indictment of Legal Counsel (GA)

Established Fact

Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis initiated a sweeping RICO prosecution against Donald Trump, 18 co-defendants, and 30 unindicted co-conspirators, heavily targeting attorneys for drafting memoranda, giving legal advice, and coordinating alternate-elector efforts. The indictment repackages advocacy and litigation activities-core functions of the legal profession-as elements of a criminal “enterprise,” raising serious concerns about retaliatory prosecution for engaging in election-challenge strategy.

Trump and 18 allies were indicted under Georgia RICO (Aug. 14, 2023). DA Fani Willis was subsequently disqualified for a conflict of interest (Mar. 2024); the sprawling case was whittled down through plea deals and dismissals. In Mar. 2026, a judge barred Willis from participating in fee-recovery proceedings after her disqualification.
