Pre-Election Filings and Post-Election Rulings (MI)

Allegan County Clerk Robert Genetski and the Michigan Republican Party filed a complaint against new signature verification guidelines issued by MI SoS the same day the guidance was issued — October 6, 2020 — and amended it on December 30, 2020 to argue the directive was unlawful. Court issued a ruling in favor of the plaintiff on March 9, 2021 – too late to have any impact upon the 2020 election outcome.
