Suppression of Georgia Senate Subcommittee Report from Congressional Notification (GA)

Established Fact

The Georgia Senate Subcommittee on Elections, chaired by Senator William Ligon, issued a formal nine-finding report on December 17, 2020 – three weeks before the joint session – concluding the election “should not be certified.” Senator Ligon confirmed the Secretary of State “did nothing” in response to these findings. This report was not referenced or transmitted to Congress as part of Secretary Raffensperger’s January 6, 2021, communication. Congressional actors objecting to Georgia’s electoral slate were thereby denied access to an official state legislative finding of non-certifiability that was directly relevant to their constitutional deliberation. The suppression of this finding from Congress – by the official responsible for transmitting the election narrative – is among the most significant informational failures documented in the national certification record.
